Intent of Your Stay

Many places will indicate ‘sleeps up to 12 people’, but do your research. We’ve found small condos jammed with 8 bunk beds in two rooms, a futon couch that sleeps another two and a full size bed holding two more people. Sure – 12 people can sleep there, but I’d rather feel like I’m on vacation than in prison.

Accommodations in Angel Fire, NM are primarily comprised of condos within walking distance of the lifts and homes within a quick drive. If you prefer, there is also a free shuttle that runs every 15 minutes from several parking lots. Additionally, there are several places to rent equipment, which are slightly cheaper the further from the lifts you’re willing to go. We’ve found that equipment rental right at the lifts is reasonably priced for quality equipment. When you’re being fitted – be honest with the folks helping. Indicating you only ski the most difficult terrain, when in fact you haven’t been on the slopes in 20 years will make for a bad experience, and probably a torn ACL.

Fresh snow and dedicated snowboard park lets everyone from beginners to experts have an amazing time!

This year has been one of the best on record for snowfall. Last year’s drought is over. More than 90” has fallen and the reviews are glowing! But keep in mind – Angel Fire, NM weather can still make driving conditions challenging to get to the resort, just as any other ski venue. We’ve skied with 30 mph winds bringing the wind chill to -20 F and had a blast! Just be prepared.

Places to Eat

Angel Fired Pizza

The variety of places to eat and bars to visit is a short list, but a very good list. We stop at Angel Fired Pizza every single time we visit. The ‘T-Rex’ pizza is a collection of all the carnivore favorites on the freshest pizza we’ve ever had.

Zeb’s is another favorite. Great variety of food at reasonable prices. The wait staff is super-friendly and they are always busy.

Both of these places are located right on Highway 464 (main road through Angel Fire, NM). There are many more restaurants and bars worth visiting in person. Not to mention the Lowes’ grocery store in the center of town that will definitely have most of what you’re looking for.

So why wait – visit Angel Fire, NM soon!
